On August 19, 2025, a scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the content and essence of the book "On Respect and Guarantee of Human Rights" by the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, was held in Tashkent. The conference was organized within the framework of the visit of a delegation headed by Jiang Jianguo, a permanent member of the People's Political Consultative Council of the 14th All-China Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on National and Religious Affairs, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Society for the Study of Human Rights.
The seminar became a convenient legal and educational platform for discussing modern approaches to ensuring and protecting human rights, taking into account national characteristics and international obligations. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the field of legal regulation and institutional support of human rights, prospects for cooperation in the humanitarian and academic fields.
The event was attended by representatives of academic and scientific circles of the two countries, government bodies, members of parliament, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of the Chinese side highly appreciated the results of the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights, and also supported the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan in the international arena. It was emphasized that these efforts are of great importance for the sustainable development and integration of the region into the world community, strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between states.
During the seminar, mutual exchanges of views on harmonizing national human rights protection strategies with international standards, including the implementation of economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights, generated great interest. The participants emphasized that the development of legal dialogue and institutional cooperation contributes to increasing the effectiveness of national human rights protection systems.
The speakers highly appreciated the importance of scientific and educational initiatives aimed at training qualified specialists in the field of human rights. They also drew attention to the importance of developing joint research projects and academic exchanges between universities and research centers of Uzbekistan and China. Following the seminar, the parties expressed their readiness to expand bilateral cooperation, including through the organization of joint forums, seminars, and expert meetings aimed at in-depth study of modern threats in the field of human rights and the development of practical recommendations. It was unanimously acknowledged that the development of a systematic dialogue on human rights issues will serve to strengthen trust and long-term partnership between Uzbekistan and China.
