On 24 September 2025, the newly elected members of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) solemnly took their oaths in an online ceremony. The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an.
In the opening session, the Vice-Chairperson of the Commission, Saidou Dogon Guida, and the Executive Director of the Commission, Hadi Ali Alyami, delivered their remarks. They warmly congratulated the newly elected members and emphasized that their work would play an important role in fulfilling the mandate of the Commission and in promoting justice, humanity, and the rule of law across the Islamic world.
Following the opening remarks, the oath-taking ceremony was held, and eight newly elected members officially assumed their mandates. Among them was Professor Mirzatillo Tillaboev, First Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan. His membership in the Commission is expected to further enhance Uzbekistan’s active participation and standing in the international promotion and protection of human rights.
At the conclusion of the event, the Executive Director of the Commission expressed his gratitude and confidence that the newly elected members would faithfully fulfill their responsibilities. The ceremony was formally closed with the closing remarks of the Vice-Chairperson of the Commission.
This oath-taking ceremony marked the official commencement of the mandate of the newly elected members of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, signifying a new stage in advancing the principles of justice and freedom in the field of human rights.
